Hospital Volunteering for 500H

After 4 years of volunteering, I reached the 500H mark. My impact during the 2021-2022 period was crucial for patients as I was the only volunteer that organized activities every week. The accountability I felt from seeing how patients were isolated for long periods of time with little entertainment led me to keep my commitment. Volunteering weekly was fun, relaxing and also draining; going weekly, good time bad time, was rough, especially during holidays and finals season. But, I was on a mission and now that volunteers came back from the pandemic, I've accomplished my duty. I now train incoming volunteers from time to time.
